Individuals and organisations have made all kinds of donations to various groups; both the privileged and underprivileged prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, but in ‘cameras’eyes.
It has driven celebrities to also join the bandwagon by also donating some food items, Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) among other things to hospitals, prisons, orphanages, and people on the street, in no different ways.
Gospel singer and a strong egalitarianist, Patience Nyarko has bemoaned the act of giving to the poor in the cameras.
She told Accra FM she has done a lot of donations without any camera, just so that her charity goes in accordance with the word of God.
Patience Nyarko said, “In Matthew 6:1 the Bible says,” ‘Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.’
She observed she has no problems with those who are doing theirs publicly but she has decided to follow the word of God as she does charity to the needy.
