Story: Jones Abrokwah Mantey, Momus Sports Head
Ashantigold’s General Captain and goalkeeper, Robert Dabuo says he has no idea about decision of employers to cut 20 percent off their pay due to the Novel Covid-19 contagion.
Assistant coach of the club, Mr Thomas Duah had earlier disclosed to an FM station in Kumasi that the players and the technical team of Ashantigold S/C have all agreed to offer 20 percent pay cut off their salary to help club.
In an exclusive interview with momusnewspaper.com Sports Head, Jones Abrokwah, the skipper revealed that he has not been informed about the club’s plans to offer a pay cut due to the outspread of Covid-19 in the country.
He said, “I’m not aware of any pay cut.
“If that’s the case of our management team, fine, but no one has informed me about it.
“I’m not in Obuasi at the moment, but I think any such news concerning us has to be communicated properly, but no one has informed me.”
The 29 year old goalkeeper observed it was a good idea and if decision is communicated well to them, they (the players) will be willing to accept as far as it would serve the general interest of the club.
